History

1948 Ontario Athletic Training Camp: provided training to male secondary school students to develop and improve their organizational ability, leadership skills athletic and camping skills, sense of responsibility, cooperation, confidence and personal integrity. A female program was added in 1950.
1952 Ontario Athletic Leadership Camp: concentrated on teaching leadership skills to secondary school students through sports related activities.
1972 Ontario Student Leadership Centre: couses in leadership skills through the media of vocational athletics, music and student council were developed.
1979 Multicultural/Multiracial secondary and Counseil d'eleves (Francophone student council) were developed.
1984 Ontario Student Leadership Centre/Centre d'Animation Jeunesse de l'Ontario (OSLC/CAJO) became officially bilingual to reflect the services to/in both official languages.
1988 Introduction of two elementary courses: Elementary Athletics and Multicultural/Multiracial Elementary.
1991 Ontario Educational Leadership Centre/Centre d'Animation Scolaire de l'Ontario operations were transferred from the Ministry of Education to a new not-for-profit corporation, with a volunteer Board of Directors. It is partially funded by the Ministry of Education and partially funded by Ontario school boards.
1992 A new dining hall and administration office was opened.
1993 Introduction of a co-educational Elementary Fine Arts course developing leadership skills through music, dance, drama and visual arts.
1994 Introduction of four new leadership courses: 1. June Leadership, a leadership development course for students who have traditionally been served by basic and general level 2. Elementary Peer Helpers 3. A second section of Elementary Athletics 4. Arts et Communication Intermediare (Francophone fine arts)
1996 Introduction of Secondary Fine Arts.
1997 Multicultural/Multracial name changed to Leadership in Diversity.
1999 Student capacity was increased to 240 per course. Secondary Peer Helping becomes an associate course. Conseil d'eleves and Secondary Diversity folded into other courses
2002 Introduction of Secondary Environmental Leadership
2004 Introduction of a third Elementary Athletics course.
2008 Two new leadership courses added - Gifted Leadership for students in Grade 6 and Summer Elementary Fine Arts.
