Leadership Courses for Grades 6, 7 and 8 students
(completed the grade as of June 2009)
Elementary Fine Arts Leadership
(Sunday, May 31st to Saturday, June 6th)
This course emphasizes leadership through the arts - dance, drama, music and visual arts. (available for Grade 7 students only)
Gifted Leadership
(Sunday, June 7th to Thursday, June 11th)
This course will develop leadership in students who have been formally or informally identified as gifted. (available for Grade 6 students only)
Elementary Athletics Leadership
(Sunday, July 12th to Saturday, July 18th)
(Sunday, July 26th to Saturday, August 1st)
(Sunday, August 16th to Saturday, August 22nd)
In this program, students are provided with leadership development opportunities with a focus on athletics leadership. (for Grades 7 and 8 students)
Summer Elementary Fine Arts Leadership
(Sunday, August 9th to Saturday, August 15th)
This course emphasizes leadership through the arts - dance, drama, music, visual arts and creative writing. (for Grades 7 and 8 students)
Intermediate School Leadership
(Wednesday, August 5th to Sunday, August 9th)
This course offers leadership development for students with a more general interest in school initiatives eg. student government, school environment/community, clubs/groups/teams, advocacy, etc. Students will develop skills related to organizing events, facilitating meetings, working with peers and teachers, advocating for school reform within their own context, and generally contributing to positive school life. (for Grades 7 and 8 students)
French Sports
(Sunday, July 19th to Saturday, July 25th)
This course offers leadership development through athletics but is offered in French. This is intended for either students with French as a first language or French immersion students. (for Grades 7 or 8 students).
Leadership Courses for Grades 9, 10 and 11 students
(completed the grade as of June 2009)
Exceptional May Leadership
(Saturday, May 23rd to Wednesday, May 27th)
This is a leadership development course with modified program expectations for exceptional students who have access to special education and services.
Secondary Music Leadership
(Sunday, June 21st to Saturday, June 27th)
Secondary students are given the opportunity to develop skills and experience leadership activities through the medium of music.
Secondary Athletics Leadership
(Sunday, June 28th to Saturday, July 4th)
(Sunday, July 5th to Saturday, July 11th)
This course provides secondary students with leadership skill development through their involvement in athletics.
Secondary Fine Arts Leadership
(Sunday, August 23rd to Saturday, August 29th)
This summer program focuses on leadership in the arts and includes four main arts disciplines - vocal music, visual arts, dance and drama. Besides students from Grades 9, 10 and 11 we welcome back students who participated in the Elementary Fine Arts program in previous years.
Student Council Leadership
(Sunday, August 23rd to Thursday, August 27th)
This course is designed to develop leadership skills for those students who show an interest in Student Council or other school leadership initiatives.
French Sports
(Sunday, July 19th to Saturday, July 25th)
