Leadership Courses for Grades 6, 7 and 8 students
(completed the grade as of June 2010)
Intermediate Arts Leadership
(Sunday, May 30th to Saturday, June 5th)
This course emphasizes leadership through the arts - dance, drama, music and visual arts. (available for Grade 7 students only)
Grade 6 Leadership
(Sunday, June 13th to Thursday, June 17th)
This course will develop leadership in students who have been formally or informally identified as gifted. (available for Grade 6 students only)
Intermediate Athletics Leadership
(Sunday, July 18th to Saturday, July 24th)
(Sunday, August 1st to Saturday, August 7th)
(Saturday, August 21st to Friday, August 27th)
In this program, students are provided with leadership development opportunities with a focus on athletics leadership. (for Grades 7 and 8 students)
Summer Intermediate Arts Leadership
(Saturday, August 14th to Friday, August 20th)
This course emphasizes leadership through the arts - dance, drama, music, visual arts and creative writing. (for Grades 7 and 8 students)
Intermediate School Leadership
(Sunday, August 8th to Friday, August 13th)
This course offers leadership development for students with a more general interest in school initiatives eg. student government, school environment/community, clubs/groups/teams, advocacy, etc. Students will develop skills related to organizing events, facilitating meetings, working with peers and teachers, advocating for school reform within their own context, and generally contributing to positive school life. (for Grades 7 and 8 students)
French Sports
(Sunday, July 25th to Saturday, July 31st)
This course offers leadership development through athletics but is offered in French. This is intended for either students with French as a first language or French immersion students. (for Grades 7 or 8 students).
Leadership Courses for Grades 9 - 12 students
(completed the grade as of June 2010)
Exceptional May Leadership
(Saturday, May 15th to Wednesday, May 19th)
This is a leadership development course with modified program expectations for exceptional students who have access to special education and services.
Secondary Music Leadership
(Sunday, June 27th to Saturday, July 3rd)
Secondary students are given the opportunity to develop skills and experience leadership activities through the medium of music.
Secondary Athletics Leadership
(Sunday, July 4th to Saturday, July 10th)
(Sunday, July 11th to Saturday, July 17th)
This course provides secondary students with leadership skill development through their involvement in athletics.
Secondary Arts Leadership
(Friday, August 27th to Thursday, September 2nd)
This summer program focuses on leadership in the arts and includes four main arts disciplines - vocal music, visual arts, dance and drama. Besides students from Grades 9, 10 and 11 we welcome back students who participated in the Elementary Fine Arts program in previous years.
Student Council Leadership
(Saturday, October 2nd to Wednesday, October 6th)
This course is designed to develop leadership skills for those students who show an interest in Student Council or other school leadership initiatives.
French Sports
(Sunday, July 25th to Saturday, July 31st)
This course offers leadership development through athletics but is offered in French. This is intended for either students with French as a first language or French immersion students.
